On December 27th, the Boston Celtics took on the defending Eastern Conference champions the Miami Heat. After being down early, the Celtics fought back in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough as the Heat held on to win 115-107. Rajon Rondo had another big night for the C's, scoring 22 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 12 assists. Ray Allen led the Celtics with 28 points.
On December 28th, the Celtics were defeated 97-78 by the New Orleans Hornets. Once again Ray Allen (15 points) and Rajon Rondo (13 points) were the only bright spots for the C's. This is the first time the Celtics have started the season 0-3 since the 2006-2007 season.On December 30th, the Boston Celtics earned their first victory of the season with a 96-85 win over the Detroit Pistons. Center Jermaine O'Neal led Boston with 19 points while Captain Paul Pierce scored 12 points in his first game back from a leg injury.
On January 1st, Rajon Rondo had a triple double with 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds and Kevin Garnett had 24 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 94-86 win over the Washington Wizards. The C's are now 2-3 on the season.
